UCC Celebrated 10 Million LTI-Free Safe Man-hours for the Design and Build Lusail Palaces Project
As part of UrbaCon Trading and Contracting’s (UCC) objective to put safety first, the team handling the Design and Build Lusail Palaces (DBLP) project has achieved an outstanding safety milestone. Led by Executive Director, Mr. Rafic Saroufim; HSE Director, Mr. Wayne Oliver and; Senior HSE Manager, Mr. Mohammad Saad, the project has surpassed 10 Million Safe Man-hours without Loss Time Injury (LTI).
UCC held an awarding ceremony for the achievement, and appreciation certificates were issued on behalf of UCC CEO, Mr. Salim Jarrar and UCC Holding CEO Mr. Mohammed Sabri. The achievement demonstrates UCC’s commitment to bringing the highest safety standards, exceptional leadership, safe work practices, excellent implementation of the HSE management system and IMS procedures.
“This achievement is the result of a work culture that is based on teamwork, strong management support, personal ownership of systems and facilities, and continuous improvement” as stated by Mr. Rafic Saroufim during the awarding ceremony.
Group Chairman, Mr. Moutaz Al-Khayyat and Vice Chairman and Group CEO, Mr. Ramez Al-Khayyat, both commend the excellent HSE performance of the project during all operation and activities; to obtain an excellent safety result in a complicated environment of extreme weather conditions and multicultural mix of workers is a remarkable feat that UCC is proud of.
As a Grade A company, the group continuously strive for the highest standards in safety, with a group of top-notch people implementing HSE’s best practices and innovation. More importantly, it should be noted that the DBLP project is approaching 15 Million Free LTI Man-hours, a milestone of enormous value for UCC.
