Moutaz Al-Khayyat
Group Chairman

is a Qatari entrepreneur and businessman, based in Doha. He is Chairman of the Power International Holding (PIH) group and its subsidiaries.

 

After studying Global Business at the University of the West of Scotland, Moutaz Al-Khayyat, together with his brothers, Ramez and Mohammad Al-Khayyat, went on to found PIH with the establishment of UCC Holding in 2011. Since then, he has played an instrumental role in the rapid expansion of the group from a single contracting entity into the dynamic, diversified, and global conglomerate it is today.

 

PIH’s activities today span energy concessions, construction, agriculture, real estate, hospitality, healthcare, and telecommunications.

 

In 2022, the Company was ranked 13th in Forbes’ Top 100 Arab Family Businesses. From the very beginning, agility, speed and a laser focus on keeping promises have characterized the PIH way of doing business, while vertical integration is core to the group’s DNA.

 

As Chairman of PIH, Moutaz Al-Khayyat is primarily focused on overseeing the strategy and governance of the Group and its subsidiaries. He leads PIH’s growth and strategic direction by exploring new business frontiers to provide clients with cutting edge solutions, underpinned by the establishment of best-in-class governance practices. Governance structures established by Mr. Moutaz include cluster-specific teams, executive boards, and performance committees to ensure rigorous control and oversight across all PIH operations.

 

Alongside his brother, Mr. Ramez, Mr. Moutaz is deeply involved in all aspects of Group operations, together taking a hands-on and collaborative leadership approach which drives growth through calculated risk, structured operations and strategic integration.
